- Kevin_ToddExplorerWe did the same thing. Looked at front living 5vers, and the Jayco Pinnacle 38FLSA was the one for us. Very similar in floor plan to what you a looking for. We ended up buying 450 miles away due to the local small dealers were not interested in getting in the ballpark pricewise with the dealer we went with. Turned out to be the best decision we made. Love the unit and they have stood behind the warranty even at that distance.
- Coach-manExplorerMy advice to all purchasers is you should be completely satisfied with the floor plan! Do not settle for something less than what you want. If it takes a road trip to find the unit you want, then by all means do it! Be happy with the model you purchase, then all the little things will be minor! Good Luck.
- LantleyNomadYour on the right track have the local rep find the closest example. Then fly or drive to see it.

I've been looking at Front Living room fifth wheels and really like this one.
clicky
However, there's only one KZ dealership in AZ and it doesn't have this model. I don't really want to buy without actually sitting in one.
Has anyone else gone through this? How did you proceed?
I'm in AZ, too, and am looking at a Durango 1500. Right now, there is exactly ONE new KZ RV, of any model, in AZ. I was in contact with KZ and I was told that there was a new dealer that was supposed to come on board, but not given a timeframe or name. I also was given the number of the regional sales rep, named Charles. I called him and left a message over 2 weeks ago, but no return call. Frankly, I thought KZ had better customer service that this, and I'm disappointed that they haven't called back. As of now, they're top my short list, but I won't buy =anything= without first seeing an example of it, even if I have to travel a bit to see one. I absolutely =hate= the mfrs' policies that won't show a wide-area list of dealers, or a nation-wide list. This being said, I do have the buildsheet for the model I'm looking for and, if I can see one and like it, would likely order through the local dealer, as their price seems to be very good.
Lyle - face_downExplorerWe just bought a Carbon 357 without even putting a foot in the door. We did look at a Carbon 327 and a Carbon 377 and from that was able to see what the fit and finish was like on these units. Things like the bedroom and bathroom were they exact same between a 327 and 357 and the garages were identical too. The only difference was in the main living area and there is enough stuff on the interwebs to see exactly what was going on there both with pictures and video. We also bought from a dealer 500 miles away that had one in stock...and saved us a ton of cash. I did not step foot in our unit till it was sitting in our driveway, and from the research that I did there were no surprises at all. This might not work for everyone, but I spent countless hours searching Google and am very happy with the process. This would not have been possible a decade and a half ago when we bought our first camper...but it is now! ;)
- jffnkrnExplorerTake a road trip, get in it and check all you can. if you like it and it works, either buy it or come home and order one the way you want it. We did that and found a floor plan we really liked, then found one 1300 miles away. put deposit on it and then drove to get it. after a few days realized what huge mistake. at least i wasn't out a lot as it was brand new and only one year old, got a decent deal on the new trade due to all the options on the trade. came home used it again and was frustrated to no end. So long story short, traded for the one i looked at months before and love it. buy local and yes agree, don't buy sight unseen. Good Luck & Be Safe
- RollandBExplorerI agree, it's time for a road trip. We just did this two days ago but only had a 1 hour drive. The line we are looking at and have seen two models at my local dealer (3 miles away) doesn't have the model we want, but can get it from the factory mid Sept. This is a dealer who has a good reputation on sales but really earned my loyalty with its service. There sale approach is one of the best I've had as well.
I just couldn't pull the plug sight unseen, so off to the dealer who had one. There is nothing that beats being in one and seeing it first hand as we didn't like the floor plan. This dealer had a center island plan we didn't think we would like, but like it a lot. The salesman met us 90 minutes before their normal opening time on Sunday and didn't follow us like a puppy dog.
Both dealers are ones I would but from so yesterday I went back to my local dealer to see about his ability to get at he center island plan. Competition is good so not playing one against the other we will now be comparing price of the two.
Good luck with your search. - azjeffhExplorerDue to the lack of models around here, we decided to attend the Hershey RV show this year. Have done the Pomona a couple times but I'm hoping Hershey is even better.
We're looking for a full-time unit so for us it's worth the cost of travel. - brmikeExplorerI own the kz stone ridge version of the fl and have had it for 3 years. we love it and have zero problems. I have been in the durango gold unit twice and feel it is a slightly better design than mine. they changed most of the things that i would have like to have changed from my unit. Berryland campers in ponchatoula, louisiana has a couple of those units in stock. they are wonderful folks to do business with. I've purchased 4 fifth wheelers from them in the last 11 years and they have always treated us right. I realize that's a long way for you to go, but it might be worth it,
