Dry pin of 2600lbs is 100lbs over the 20% rule. So all things being equal the 5th is balanced right from the factory. My guess is the weight on the rear axle is around 3000lbs before loading anything in the 5th. Add another 3-400lbs for bedroom, basement and anything in front of the axle and he's pushing 3400lbs on the pin. Pure speculation of course.
But at 2600lbs dry per brochure the add
200 for hitch
60 for propane
120 for 2 batteries
2980lbs.
Add in basement gear and bedroom stuff @300lbs.
3280lbs.
Anyway you spin it he's over somewhere.
Maybe bags will help. FWIW I tow a way lighter smaller 5er than the OP and even with the MorRyde pin I still get some porposing. My weights are well under for my 2500 and the pin is 20%. Could just be a conflict of physics with the setup.
IMO an airbag setup for the pin or the 5th hitch would help better.
To the OP. How did you get your truck recertified?
