Air Cinditioner not cooling

I have a 2003 Keystone Challenger with a Carrier AirV air conditioner. It doesn't seem to cool the trailer like it should. I have had three servicemen look at it and they all say its working fine. Yet when I am in a campground, my camper is warmer than everyone else and they all have water running off theirs, I only have a slow drip. Any suggestions?

  • Something to check. Be sure you are getting really good air flow both in the condensing unit and through the evaporator coil. While not as important for heat, AC requires that you have good air flow. Clean filters, all duct work open, no collapses, good fan. Up top make sure the condensing unit is clean, fins are not bent closed and so on.... You can leave the fan switch in the ON position for AC. Have you had this unit serviced where they hooked the gauges to it?

  • This sounds like a possible low voltage issue. Check the voltage when the ac is on and the compressor is running. I had the same issue, when I got good voltage I got good cooling!
  • How humid is it in the TT? The a/c has to work harder to try to keep cooler.
I was in S.C and in Florida a few weeks ago and used a dehumidifier it was night and day. Another thing I found ws the bathroom was colder than the rest of the TT so I blocked off the vent and picked up a few degrees also, you might want to close the blinds to stop some of the sunlight going through.
    Good luck.
