I was just about to say I agree with everything posted in this thread so far, but then I read rjxj. No! Don't lie to her! That level of disrespect will surely end up biting you on the a$$.

But yes, get another campground, show up early (also rude but not as bad as lying to your spouse), or sleep on their floor.

And teach the wife to drive HER and your 5er if she wants to know, so it will be an actual viable option next time.
