I'm sorry, but when I'm invited to attend something like this as a GUEST, I don't want to cut their grass, fix the water system, set up their tents and fix the air mattress inflator. I don't want to hear about the need for a new well. I go camping to relax, spend time with my family and have fun.
We bought a trailer so that we could enjoy our weekend trips. Our kids didn't sleep in their tents. And their kids have slept in our trailer and used our kayaks and ate our food many, many times without ever an offer to help with anything.
If helping them with their stuff was the proper thing to do, I'm going to be way more selective about who I camp with in the future. Yes, I've got buddies that I would help change a transmission with if it was needed on a trip. These ain't those people.
Lets not forget that we had to ask that someone meet us at the cabin on Friday night or that we be allowed to pull in without them.
