aluminum deck & steps

I have the RV-Co's 5 step version for the past couple of months. I am quite pleased with them as they are fairly light and yet sturdy. They are easy to set up and take down and folds up compact enough not to take too much room in the basement storage. Adds a much needed level of safety with the hand rail with solid and consistent height steps for my DW to get in and out of the FW, as she has some mobility challenges.

The only issue I had was the steps kept sliding forward on the top step every time you stepped on them. I fixed it by adding a short piece of aluminum angle so to bracket the top step front and back.

Overall, very happy with them, but I think the price is a bit too high, but what RV product isn't these days.

When my steps are folded up it fits in the back of the truck between the hitch and tailgate. Dont take up much room at all. It folds down to about a foot and a half high by the width of the steps.

The aluminum ones were pretty pricey if I remember correctly. I ended up getting the 4'x4' steel deck with steps. Extremely sturdy and the total weight is around 180 pounds, but it does take up a ton of space in our basement storage. We now just use them when stationary at our home CG base for summer months and don't drag them all over the country.

No matter if you get the aluminum system or steel, IMHO there are advantages and disadvantages. I suspect even the aluminum ones will take up tons or storage space when you are on the road. On the other hand it sure is nice to have a 4 foot porch with steps to enter your fiver.

I'm not unhappy with comments. I just followed one of the links that I got & wanted more specific info.

I can't speak to durability because our set is on order, but we traveled to the construction site and my husband who is pretty picky was impressed with the units. We ordered the deck and four step units. My husband set up the steps/deck himself and found it very easy. We liked the aluminum construction since it was very light weight -- about 100 lbs total (steps and deck) with the largest piece (steps only) easily handled at about 40 lb. Not having a lot of small loose parts was also something that influenced our decision to buy. The steps alone would have made exiting the RV much easier. I just wanted the deck and husband let me have it. Again you will need to hear from someone who has had the steps for a while to speak to durability, but after seeing the steps I am not concerned at all. My comments may not help much but will at least bump your thread.
