Portable RV Deck/Steps

I didn't really know these types of products existed until there was some discussion on another forum about them. May order a set up that is 40" x 40" deck with steps, all of which can be torn down or set up in a matter of minutes.

Anyone else using one of these systems? The tear down weight doesn't seem too heavy and it should store easily in a normal fiver basement.
  • looks flimsy. lighter weight = weaker.

if it wiggles even just a tiny bit it will fail and hurt someone.
but stock steps are less then great. solid but lacking.
  • Stromberg-Carlson makes a nice looking set. Big in RV stuff.

Go to myrvtalk.com and contact the moderator, Jim. He has a setup he bought last year and loves them, aluminum IIRC. Found the builder at an RV park.

We were at an rv show a few years ago and saw a dealer for Sunrise rv products. We bought the display model. We can set it up in about half an hour. It really helped my knees. Much easier to use than the rv stairs.http://www.sunrisedecks.com

Which brand are you looking at?

Originally I was looking at Sun Rise. But starting about 6 or 7 days ago their internet site went down. I got a little worried that maybe they were either going out of business or having a hard time.

There is another company that makes a similar set up, but not aluminum, I have gotten a quote from. What I like about theirs is that you can switch the configuration for the steps to be left entry, right entry, or center entry.

I have looked at the all aluminum ones. I assume they would be a little lighter. I may get a quote from them. Shipping on the steel system was going to run over $300.00
