How about the Pullrite hitch that has about the same design?
Similar design, about the same price, etc etc. Probably couldn't go wrong with either.
If these hitches would have been around when I originally bought my first fifth wheel hitch, I would have definitely bought one. Too many advantages to not get one.
There are some on here that have OPINIONS, but thats about it . They have never had one or used one, so it's just that an opinion.
There was one that I know of that the tubes bent, there was no damage to the truck or fifth wheel is just bent. Nothing disconnected .It was the aluminum version with the gooseneck mount. Andersen has since changed the design. You can probably do a search on here ,and see for yourself.
I personally prefer the rail mount steel version, the one I have. Mine is mounted to the picture frame adapter on all four corners. Not a fan of the gooseneck connection.
A lot of speculation on the weight rating, and several arm chair engineers on here, but I would not hesitate to use mine at 20K. There is a very long thread on the Cummins forum about the Andersen. Lot of them towing big fifth wheels, and toy haulers with the Andersen. They have to be near the weight rating, and yet we have the one aluminum version with some bent tubes .
There is one member on the Cummins forum that I know of that transports fifth wheels of all sizes, and still going strong with the Andersen.
