I have the Anderson hitch and have found that it requires raising the nose of the 5vr much higher than the regular type hitches. I think this contributed to me needing to replace the motor on the land...

No the Landing gear was most likely a single motor about the size of a winshield wiper motor from LCI. Cheap inferior product. Get a dual motor set up. Landing gear should go up and down, over and over. The 3" extra needed for the Andersen was not the problem.
