I hold the foot pedal down and then slide my foot off the foot petal as it snaps closed. It holds water every time We do that. When ever some one else uses the toilet it starts to leak until I give them a lesson on how to use the toilet. Don't understand why but it works every time with the old snap the toilet closed routine.
