I will attempt to answer a couple of response's with one reply...
1. I have the Firestone airbag system with the on-board compressor and digital readout. Very handy to be able to adjust the ride while moving to adjust for the load. There are times we do not take the toys or water.
2. We have the standard 5th Airborne kingpin with the internal airbag.
3. Pin weight is right at 20% of gross completely loaded with toys and full water tanks. Prior to the airbags on the truck, the chucking was always present regardless how it was loaded.
I have learned to dump the air when making tight turns while backing into a drive or camp site. This takes a bit of weight off the third axel and reduces scrubbing wear (I hope) on the tires.
