Howdy folks, been following this thread with great interest because like all of you, I've pretty much narrowed the field of TH's that would fit me to this unit, and perhaps maybe the Sundance 3300 although that one doesn't really spec out for a generator.
I too have a single bike, a Honda VTX 1800C at about 750lbs, so the notes I've read on the flooring are of interest. I guess the big difference between my needs and most others' is that it's just gonna be ME living in this thing, and full time at that. No wife, no dog, no GF, significant other, child, grown kid, parrot or mountain goat. Nope, just me, embarking a new and altogether different life as a single guy in his 50's. That's why most TH's do not interest me. Most, as has been noted in an earlier post by another astute 5th wheel shopper, are, well, somewhat trashy looking inside, all garage, with "sporty" furniture if you can call it furniture, and made to haul 459 kids, 8 quads, 3 bikes, a sand rail and an obscenely huge BBQ unit to the river for the weekend. SLEEPS 20!!! say the ads. Oh boy. Great. I was beginning to think there was no such model as the 347 until I tripped over it sideways in a Google search. Thank God.
I would like to hear from experience though, what the unit is actually like to live in. In every photo array I've seen, it isn't clear whether the overhead kitchen cabinet that hangs near to or over the sink area blocks the view to the other side or if it may be in the way.
Similarly, the corner vanity mirror / hutch in the BR looks as if putting one's face down to the sink might be difficult with the overhang. I walked a few other models on a dealer lot with the same arrangement and it seemed like a knot on one's head would'nt be unlikely.
And I wonder if the showers in these things are roomy enough. I swear I'd give up some space somewhere if a body could actually grab a decent shower without doing a recent Brett Favre impression at the end of it. Anyone?
Then, the dresser. Is it roomy enough for a full spate of undies, socks, jocks and such? Is the washer/dryer prep in the closet with all the shelves I saw in there? I would use a W/D, so shelves make no sense.
What about the real deal on the overall quality, fit and finish? How does she fare there?
Overall, this is the first 5er I've looked at that's had me excited, but it doesn't look like they made them prior to 08, and budget forces me into the used market. I wish I could just go order one up, but it's not in the cards. And I don't see any in the usual "MUST SELL" venues. If there's a similarly designed unit with a used market, I'd check it out. Otherwise, looks like I may to have to wait until one of you trades up! ;)
Many thanks for any and all impressions of this fine 5th, and the best of luck to all of you lucky enough to own one. Take care!
