Any Problems with your 6.7L diesel on Ford F350 ?????

Have 2004 Ford F350 6.0L that has been a nightmare. Getting ready to get a 2015 F350 then saw that the 6.7 has had a lot of troubles. After my 6.0L troubles should I be leary. Want to hear from those with 2012-2015 F250/350s if you have had any problems. Thank you. Bob

Thank you for all your input. Got a better deal on a 2015 3500 Ram than I could make on the F350 so that's what I did. Glad to see how many were so pleased with their Fords. Not enough space here to list all the problems I had with my 6.0
  • Mine has been rock solid with one exception which was 100% my fault. I put DEF in the fuel tank! It was a $12K mistake! But it was rebuilt, and I've put 35K miles on it since then pulling a 13K FW in the Rockies. No issues what-so-ever. And boy does it have a lot of power.

  • I don't know where you saw that the 6.7 has a lot of problems. The only problem I have had was a blown hose on the engine. I have 72K on the truck now and have pulled the truck up and down many mountains out west. There were reports of fuel system problems, mainly people getting water in the fuel and that damaging the fuel system. But I haven't seen anyone complaining about that for over a year now.

The fuel system runs at 25,000-30,000 psi and is very intolerant of water. So that makes changing the water fuel filter very important. Also you should avoid any gas station that is low volume since diesel sitting in tanks picks up water.

But other than those few reports I haven't seen any other systemic complaints.
