Our previous 5er was a Bighorn...never had any issues leveling it so I didn't understand all the hype about auto leveling until we got our current trailer with the 6 pt system...the auto function works great but what I really like is that it always raises the trailer enough to take most of the weight off of the axle springs...so once its finished...its very solid when walking around in it....GL
It does make the trailer feel more solid than anything I was able to do on my previous fifth wheel. The system is very convenient as long as it is working properly. Other than a blown fuse, I haven't experienced any problems with mine yet.
One thing I really like about it is the ability to lift the tires off the ground without jacking the trailer up and putting stress on the frame. For Winter storage, I use the leveling system to take the weight off the tires. If we plan to stay somewhere more than a few days, I usually take a little more weight off the suspension after it auto-levels. This definitely helps make things feel more solid. Anytime the suspension comes into play, you will always have a little wiggle in the trailer.
Is it really worth the cost? Maybe not, but if you can truly afford >$50,000 for a recreational vehicle, I don't see how a little more for this convenience is of any consequence!
