I have a F250 Short bed and I have a PullRite Superglide for a short bed truck. It does all the work for me by moving the king pin back as I turn the truck. LOVE IT! Never have to worry about manually moving it back and forth. It just does it automatically.
Auto-matically?
How do it know???
SG - 2nd only to a thermos (keeps hot things hot and cold thing cold)..;)
.
The King pin pivots on a cam with the 5er. There is a plate on the 5er that makes the king pin hitch plate turn with the 5er. Instead of the king pin turning on the hitch plate. As the 5er turns a cam on the underside of the superglide hitch forces the king pin to the rear of the truck bed. Auto-magically. then as the 5er straightens out the cam forces the king pin hitch plate forward in the truck bed back over the rear axle. check out the video link below.
