It get's argued about because Ford de-rates the 250's on paper and most thinking people would take Ford at their word and assume the ratings are correct. I did too until it was explained to me and I did my own research on Ford parts sites to verify...
The reason I questioned the tire capacity is that the OP stated a 6,100# Rear axle capacity, I figured it would be at least 6,200# or higher with 18" tires. My 01 Ram is 6,084, limited only by the stock 245/75-16 E's.
