If you are just sitting on the overloads with over 6000 lbs on the rear axle and a pin weight of 2160 lbs there is something wrong.
Either the weights as given are way way off or the overloads were not installed correctly.
How much does the truck squat when the trailer is on?
I have found the most common reason for chucking is low pin weight percentage.
I just engage both ends of my overloads at around that weight or a touch more when my truck was new. Seems correct. Now with 32k on my truck it only takes about 1500# to make both ends engage. Thinking back to when I brought our last hauler home from MD when the truck only had 600 miles on it and it only had the fronts engaged. I was amazed!
