Augusta RV - Our first walkthrough

So, we spent a few days at the Hershey RV show and spent the majority of the time looking at A's and Super C's for an eventual upgrade, but we were sucked into the Augusta 5th wheels as we walked by. Out first impression? Pretty awesome! The quality, fit and finish and decor were all great. Here's our quick overview if anyone's interested.

I know they're a fairly new company. Any owners on here? What are your opinions? We spent about an hour drooling over 5 different units and talking to the folks in the booth and we left very impressed. We've seen their stuff on Instagram and it always looks great, but I didn't expect them to look as good (actually better) in person.
  • We researched the Luxe but when we finally got the weights from Augusta the CCC was only about 1,000 pounds. As we will be full timing that is just not enough for us. They said we could increase that by upgrading to 8,000 axels. Beautiful product but it just wouldn't work for us.
  • Yes they are a quality unit. I did see several inperfections but overall very nice. I just don't like the soft walls and soft corners. Seem too easy to damage especially the corners.

Not sure if the MORryde IS an option but for some reason it's not standard. That is strange in my opinion for a HIGH end unit.
  • From what I gather from their web site, construction is fairly similar to the DRV construction and maybe a little more pricey than DRV. The frame is made different.
  • They don't list weights for their coaches on web site.
  • Sounds pretty. Now for the nitty gritty, construction details?
  • We found our Augusta Ambition at Hershey last year. We were going to look at Lifestyle and DRV. Lifestyle was going out and DRV was shamelessly put together and some functions felt like an after thought like the closet you could only reach by using 2nd step into bedroom.

Our Ambition is a 2016 38 FB. We had some warranty issues which were all addressed by the company this past summer. That process took a lot longer than we were told, but they did a good job in all areas. Everyone who has walked through it is shocked how big it is inside. The front bath is the biggest wow factor. Unit tows great with our rig. And have had it out in 30 degree day temps with 18 degree nights. The unit stayed warm with HP during day and furnace at night. As long as you have the 50A for summer to run both AC, the unit stays cool even in 95+ days. At one point this summer we only had 30A and had to alternate AC manually and it struggled to stay cool while it was in 90's outside.
