Yes. It will try to close. If the sunscreen is tied to the ground, it is likely to try to tear the stakes out of the ground, and continue to roll up, or it will try to rip the top of the awning off the side of the RV, and roll it all up. Or it will stall the awning and cause damage to the motor or gears.
Best not to tie the awning down in any way if you have an automatic wind sensor awning.
