Awning Spring

When I roll up my awning I get very little help from the springs in the awning roller tube. I am not sure if I need to replace the springs or if there is a way to adjust them to add more tension. I certainly do not want to buy and install new springs if it is not necessary. The awning is 10 years old and it is a either a Spirit FX or Fiesta by Carefree of Colorado. Thanks!

    Thanks. I looked on you tube last week but found nothing on adjusting springs, but I will look again.

    google rv awning tension spring adjustment. You will find numerous articles with step by step instructions plus some videos also.

    It is actually pretty easy IF you make sure of what you are doing... If you do not respect the spring , it will get you ! ! We replaced fabric and re tightened the springs on my BIL's trailer.. found a great how to video on you tube . . We also kept the Ipad close by in case we needed to reference the video

    I adjusted the tension without mishap and the awning now rolls up like it did when it was new. Thanks for the help.
