How many turns on Awning Springs?

Question

Just replaced my awning fabric today.  During the install, I hate to say, I lost track of the no. of turns on the springs.  The awning is a 15 foot A&amp;E Dometic.  I have completely no idea if it was 8 turns on one side or 1 turn per ft of length or what...  I am afraid i might have them too tight.  Advice is appreciated!

2003 15 foot A&amp;E Dometic 8500.

WE did my BIL's 18' A&amp;E... I believe it was 12 turns.... If it too tight , or too loose , all you have to do is disconnect the arms and adjust... IF the springs are older , and wound too tight, they can break...

You could consider the circumference of the tube and the length of awning fabric, then add a couple more turns.
