That doesn't "balance" the batteries, that increases the voltage. This is how you hook up 2 6v batteries to get 12v. "Balancing" refers to using equal lengths of cables between the battery terminals and between the batteries and your coach. Over time, the difference in resistance through the cables causes one battery to charge at a different rate than the other one, which is not good. Read the links posted above for the science behind it.

I posted a link right after this. And I'm sticking with positive on one battery and the negative on the other battery. Not talking about series, still parallel. Check the link and picture posted from old-bisquit
