Modifying the the bed so that mattress was on a slide system so that it could be slid back & forth would be nice except for the added weight.
Slide rails plus full sheet of thick plywood to fully support mattress and weight of folks in bed and a locking device so that it didn't slide around when sleeping on it......weight would add up quickly.
We just tag team it when changing sheets.
Pull mattress down, lift head of mattress up, rassle the fitted sheet on, push it back up and then do the bottom.
