Bedroom slide problems

I have a problem with our bed slide. On the way in it has started to hit very hard at the top, allso screws in the slide have punched dents into the outside wall, and this move creats a loud cracking sound on closing and does not shut up completely at the bottom.
I have looked under the bed and there in no adjustment at all.
Moving the nylock nut out does help with the top but then the bottom is about 3/4" open what is going on?

  • There are several different types of drivers for slides, cable pulley, schwintek will have a track mounted on side of slide, hydraulics, and the larger rack and pinion drive like on most of the larger slides. My suggestion, take it to a service center. There are others on here that may be able to help if they know what type of drive mechanism you have.
  • Thanks it is the Lippert Bed Cradle with hydraulic cylinder.

  • If you take the cover off, you will see the hydraulic cylinder. The end of the cylinder has a long threaded section. That is your adjustment. Yyou may be able to adjust the bottom to pull in more by screwing the nut the appropriate direction. Be careful because tightening it too much can really screw things up.
  • I did that with the nut as I said undoing the nut did help with the top.Now I am wondering if I was to lift the rear end of cradle up with wedges so as when the square guides come in it could bring the bottom in?
