Bedroom TV no reception?

Our selector is by Wineguard. Outputs for three TVs with 4 inputs for each plus the OTA booster switch.

Maybe the obvious, but did you turn off the antenna booster? Those will kill reception through cable or satellite.

Yes, first thing I did was turn off booster for antenna.

Run a coax directly from the cable box to the back TV through a window and verify that the TV is OK. Next use a wire tracer or DVM and trace and verify the coax location and it's connection. Ditto from the back TV coax. When you find the other end of the back TV coax connect it to a signal and see if the back TV works. Since OTA is OK on the front TV you could use it initially and get that portion working.

If you have a powered antenna then the connection to the back TV will be after the power panel. Somewhere there will be a splitter for the back TV. Pull that panel out and look for a second coax and behind the front TV connection.

The problem could be almost anything: bad coax, bad connector, not connected, bad splitter, switch box and more.

Might be as simple as making sure your TV is on channel 3 (or 4 if that is required)before you switch to cable. Also, I do not think it is required to channelize the TV if you are on a cable because the TV tuner is not used on cable. Good luck.

I had Wineguard selector box go bad 3 times, they dont make it any more. As some one already said pull cable in a window and hook direct to TV and see if it works,

My bedroom cable has a splitter in the line that also feeds the outside jack (factory setup). Might research a problem there. My splitter is located by the video selector box, near the main TV.
Over the air signals have to be pretty strong for me to have the same channels playing on both TVs, cable no problem. For a weak signal, the bedroom TV goes south first.
Also had a problem once getting over the air stations on the bedroom TV after going to a campground with cable. I had to go into the TV setup and make a change there. I would run a cable directly to the TV and see if it works that way.

My vote is for jumper wire. This is so they only have to install one run between outside and inside wall plate. If using satellite, the in goes to your sat box. If using park cable a jumper wire is needed.

This makes sense. Especially if there are two (male) coax ports on one plate behind the living room TV. OP, use a short jumper to connect the two and try the bedroom TV again.
