black tank valve handle in or out means valve closed

had an interesting question asked this week I couldn't answer. Buddy has a new Montana FW, and the black tank handle is pulled out, away from the chassis.. Does that mean the valve is closed or o...

Run a test..fill the black tank with black tank stuff and pull/push the handle and look up inside the drain pipe to see what happens...:B

Seriously...If I had to choose one or the other, I'd bet that "in" is closed...that's the way all of our different trailers have been.
