Breaker box wiring on 5th wheel travel trailer

I need to know how a breaker box should be wired in a 5th wheel travel trailer. Is there any difference than the way a house is wired?

  • I'm not sure what you are asking but I'll try to give you an answer. There are two types of 120VAC services on 5vr's. They are the 30A and 50A service, with the 50A service becoming more prevalent.

The 30A service is a single phase 120V supply. The power panel in the trailer will have a single 30A input breaker and several 15A output breakers for receptacles, heaters and A/C.

The 50A service is a two phase 120/240V supply that is the same as your house supply. The power panel in the trailer will have a 50A input breaker and two rows of 15A breakers.

The 12VDC service is generally located in the same location as the 30 or 50A panel, but is physically and electrically separated.

I hope this is the answer that you were looking for.
