- Dutch___DiExplorerWe decided on a simpler route. We have only our front door alarmed. It does flash the lights & truck if we're hooked up and has a very loud horn. Two reasons for this.
1. I don't think we need more, or we've been extremely lucky for 19 years on fulltime use.
2. With no motion detector, I can turn on the alarm if we are boondocking in a WM or other non park spot for the evening. I don't want to be jarred awake if the wind kicks up or DH wobbles his way to the potty. :S
For us, it's just a matter of being made aware that someone is skulking around. Hugs, Di . - kakampersExplorerWe use Simplisafe. It's a fully monitored system, $24.99 a month, no contract. Even monitors our smoke detector.
- UppercrustExplorerOur alarm is 2 dogs. When we leave for the day we do lock up the camper.

Thanks all for your feedback. Our concerns were not so much while we are there, but DW worries when we go on a day trip and no one is around.
If I were a real road warrior, and doing a lot of traveling, I think I might have something that would at least text me on my phone. I could then call the CG office to check on things. There's nothing in it that can't be replaced, so it's not really a big deal if something =did= happen.
Lyle - ICamelExplorerSince I am away from the trailer for up to 8 hours per day while fishing, I installed this system from Harbor Freight.

All entry points to the fifth wheel and all exterior storage doors are alarmed.
My intention is that the noise of the alarm will scare any intruders away and towards other easier targets. - joelcExplorer IIII don't know if an alarm would even work on a RV. Have you ever heard a car alarm go off. No one pays attention. If someone wants to get in they will. If there was a way to have an alarm that notified a company then it might work. Just be sure you are insured well. I had a Class A broken into one time when it was in for repair. My home was robbed one time, after I notified the police we were going to be away. (I am suspicious of that one). Also, if there was a unit that allowed a camera hooked up to a cell phone so you could monitor the coach, that might help too. Just some thoughts....
- 2oldmanExplorer IINowadays you could put an internet camera on it and watch the burglary in progress.
- colliehaulerExplorer IIIWhen I'm gone I don't even lock the door. When I'm there I have 3 Collie's.
That being said if I don't feel good about an area I don't stay there. - Coach-manExplorerThanks all for your feedback. Our concerns were not so much while we are there, but DW worries when we go on a day trip and no one is around.
- OaklevelExplorerNo, We rarely even lock the doors. Never had issues. Never heard of an issue in a campground.....
