Non-starter!

Save your - "change the locks" money, time & effort!

Any thief worth his salt carries the all purpose "key" for opening storage compartment doors with or without the CH751 locks -
a screwdriver or *any* prying tool...:W

But - I have changed to thumb-turn (only) - *NO* keys req'd.
If a thief wants my sewer hose, or assorted compt "stuff" it's OK by me - and no compt door damage..;)

I don't think there's a reason for one, considering where I camp, generally away from populated areas. Considering how many false alarms these things have, I wouldn't want one.

The most vulnerable place for your coach is in a public storage lot.

I guess I am in the minority...if I hear an alarm go off I DO look if it is in my area...now I dont get out of bed to look!

Even with your fancy,dancy alarm, I could break in, rip off what I wanted and be gone before your neighbors started to complain about the noise, before anyone was notified, and most likely before you answered your phone.

I have a 4-42 system. Four legs, forty two teeth.

If you can get by it you can have the trailer.

Assume for the moment that I have an alarm system in my coach (In fact I do), now Am i going to tell you all about it so that some lurker can research it, come in, disable it, and rip off my valuables? (If you need to think the answer is NO).

I will, however tell you of one device I recently read about,, Now I do not (yet) have one of these but it is a multi-purpose device.

First: it is a Wi-Fi Hot spot, Currently only offered for Verizon, but it is a hot spot.

Then it is an OBD-II to Computer interface (Blue Tooth or Wi-Fi not sure which)

And it has some form of locator technology in it.. So it knows where it is at at all times.

Contact Verizon... (I kind of wonder if it has the ability to disable the ECC and kill the engine)

NOTE: I do not know if OnStar or OnGuard (Equivalent systems from GM and Ford respectively) can be had on a motor home. but on an alarm scale of 10, these are 50's. I mean as a police dispatcher I have had the pleasure of helping catch vehicles so equipped.. Lots of fun.

if you are rving, don't waste your time with an alarm system unless you are staying in detroit.

no one will know what the hell is going on and you'll piss off any neighbors.

I have an inside motion sensor alarm system.

35+ years of casual RVing and I never felt the need for an alarm. My very first RV did have a car alarm...bad choice, since it was activated by current change, like a door opening or a light going on. There are constant currant changes and draws in an RV.
