At their suggestion, we removed all the hardware so we could put it on a flat surface and discovered that it was warped. We also had a washer hang up and had to destroy it to get it removed. The replacement base was probably damaged by the freight company. The deep scratches were down to bare metal and unacceptable to us. B&W's customer service was great and we had no problems getting the base replacements.
Wow! I'll bet that some of the parts were warped before it was welded together in that case. Interesting.
