  • I've had the Patriot for about 1 month and two tows of around 900+ miles. I replaced a 2003 Reese 16K. 1st the B&W is a LOT heavier. I had no trouble lifting either head off, but the base on the B&W is way heavier. Hooking up is a breeze leaving no guess work. Open the handle, back in and once the handle is closed then you're hooked up.
Fit and finish are great. It's also a plug n play for the Reese bed rails.
Best part is it's super quiet.

Why not go with the companion and have greater weight capacity?

Guessing for the Op - the Patriot attaches to standard rails. The Companion requires the Turnover Ball gooseneck be installed.

My guess is the Op already has rails and is thinking of the simplest route.

That said, to the OP - I have a companion (same hitch head, different mounting) and I LOVE it. I'd gladly buy it again.
  • The B&W Companion and Patriot hitches have a great following of very satisfied customers. Great company that makes the hitches in The USA and takes care of their customers...I really like my Companion Hitch
