neither of the two products share anything in terms of parts..
the bases are different (rail vs gooseneck) and the heads are different
the patriot has a bolt together frame (16k) and a pre-welded base (18k)
the Companion has an 18k (no longer sold) base and 20k base.. and then there are the puck style at 20k(ford) and 25k(ram). ..
