The FACT is if the handle is closed and the kingpin and hitch plates are touching and if you want to look and the jaws are closed around the kingpin YOU ARE HITCHED and IMHO no meed for a pull test.
Very high quality with 1 1/8" thick jaws.
Here we go again, We can say that about any hitch, handle closed kingpin and hitch plates touching , and a visual that the jaw is closed, and to add one the safety pin in place, and to add another do a pull test if it makes you feel better, better yet if you want to be completely covered get a bedsaver. Anyone can drop a fifth wheel with ANY hitch if the the correct procedures are not followed.
I knew I would bring you out!
I never look to see if the MASSIVE jaws are closed around the kingpin. I do LOCK my handle.
Ya just never know since some people are "Up To No Good" !!!
Maybe we should trade names it would would be more fitting, but then you couldn't give me a Ram Fiat, cummins or no cummins . :B - sk734Explorer

I am very happy with my companion-super hitch. Put a cable lock on it if that worries you. I think people can steal most anything in your truck including the truck if they want to.
I met a guy in an RV park, we were talking about our B&W Companions and he claimed some prankster had pulled his safety pin out while he had stopped for lunch somewhere. Didn't discover it until he went to set up in the RV park several hundred miles later. Maybe he forgot to pin it, but regardless, it never dropped his 5th wheel. I guess that is good to know. My big fear is having someone steal the top plate when I'm parked somewhere with no trailer. - Alley_FoxExplorerI met a guy in an RV park, we were talking about our B&W Companions and he claimed some prankster had pulled his safety pin out while he had stopped for lunch somewhere. Never would have considered that possible until you brought it up! - lpxguyExplorerLove mine too...very quiet...extremely well built. And wait till you see how well packaged it is...no flimsy cardboard there!
