B&W RVK 3700 for GM Factory 5th Wheel Prep

I haven't seen anyone else post about a 5th Wheel Hitch for the new GM Factory Hitch Prep yet, so here is mine, the B&W RVK 3700. I already had a B&W Companion Hitch from my previous truck, so I only needed to purchase the base unit of the 3700 and use the head from the Companion. Rated at 20k 5th Wheel weight, 5k hitch weight rated.

  • I was expecting higher weight limits but the new GM version has the same weight limits as the Ford version. I guess the wider stance on the Ram allows for more confidence on weight.
  • That looks fantastic! I wish mine had the prep.

That said; I am never selling this truck. Shortbox GM diesels with DPF heat shields, etc are the worst ever for installing 5th wheel frame brackets on. I want my Saturday back!
  • Ford had crew cab F150's in the 70's, but discontinued them from '80-'96, then reintroduced them in the new body F150, but with a rediculously short bed length, which took them a few years to rectify.

Ford also had their SuperCab all through the 70's, 80's, 90's and Dodge had their Club Cab during the same era, but it took GM until '88 to come out with their Extended Cab trucks.

The B&W hitch looks very nice!

Very nice looking hitch. I don't know what took GM so long to offer the FW prep! Once the prep kit is out, the hitch makers step up quickly.

Nice that B&W has kept their hitch heads interchangeable.

GM is =always= behind. How long did it take them to offer a crew cab on a 1/2 ton? Ford had them for nearly 20 years. :M

  • That is a fine looking hitch sir! Those factory fifth wheel prep kits sure are slick!

    Thanks!
