RV'S have evolved over the year's, remember when they did not have bathrooms or if you go back far enough even a 12 volt system. Who would want to go back to that? If you want basic they are out there. Work and Play by Forest River does not have a lot of fluff or even convert a cargo trailer if that is to fancy. As far as trucks you can still buy a Ford XL with crank windows and austere interior. Dodge offers the Tradesman as well. Don't know what Chevrolet offers for basic truck. There out there if you really want basic.
If they did not evolve who would spend the money to upgrade? They build what sells and discontinue what does not. I don't know anyone that would give up their computer for a typewriter.
