No, you're not the only one. I'm not so concerned about the interior being home like, but I just don't get the popularity of such big units and big and fancy go together to some extent. Wanting to truly "camp" my concern is more about being able to get into small sites in wilderness like areas; harder with big units. Also concern about fuel used, and maneuverability in parking lots, gas stations, etc. To over simplify a little I thing there are the "true campers" who want to be in the wilds and spend much time outside and there are the "RVers" who's priority is having a house with mobility to travel with. I'm in between with an old 30 ft. MH.
