Some people cause trouble, so rather than actually dealing with it in a reasonable way, they ban what-ever-it-is. No smoking, no campfires, no RV's older than 10 years, etc.
Kind of the equivalent of giving that Porsche driver a speeding ticket simply because his car will exceed the speed limit, and he's more likely to do it than that old man in the Buick.
When I was motorcycle camping in the 70's I was turned away from a couple campground because I was on a motorcycle. They hadn't had any trouble, but hey, you just never know bout them mo'sycles.

Years ago we rode to Havasu to check out the London Bridge no place to camp if you had a mo'sycle
