I would like to change my separate radio and dvd player to a double din radio/dvd combo. The current dvd player is a 110v unit. Is it safe to use a radio for a vehicle or do trailer radios have a special rating for heat or??I think a vehicle radio should be fine but figured I ask. Thanks

Should be ok provided you wire it correctly.

+1. Changing to 12v unit wouldn't be a problem.

Most car audio equipment is tested to last in a 130F car. It can reach much higher temps in Las Vegas when it is 115 outside and sitting in the sun all day while someone is at work. You should be fine, and the 12 volt system should be much more energy efficient!Good luck,Fred.

Is this for your hauler or your truck?If this for your hauler you will have to run A/V cable in order to use the dvd and get audio and video to your tv.

Any good car audio shop should be able to handle this for you.

Ummm...no to the 480. You will notice.

You think I'll notice. I will try to see what my dvd player is currently putting out. If it's 1080 I will try to set it to 480 and see how it looks.

My raptor came with the alpine dva-9861 head unit . It's hooked up to the tv via rca cable and plays the sound through the trailers speakers . As well as has the hook up for iPod and sat- radio.

should be fine; but fyi
when I swapped out the double din head unit to a radio/dvd player I couldn't get any head units to support any output beyond 480. Which can be a pain if the display is larger then say 30"
