Still trying to figure out how to get my TV to play through teh surround sound on my player. Instructions taalk about a setup menu but I can never get it to appear.
Make sure the red and white rca cables are plugged into the tv. Next go into the tv menu and select audio. Then go down the list to variable. I can't remember exactly which way it is but you want the audio to be controlled by both the tv and Jensen. So I just turn the Jensen to max and use the tv controller for volume control. You can't get HD sound through the tv while watching cable or air shows. The HDMI is only good for movies played thru the Jensen. IIRC
I agree with most that Jensens are really crappy. I had a Touch Audio the never worked form the get go in our last TT. I replaced it with a car stereo and bought a cheap bluray player at wallmart for movies. I then added a small PC 3 piece speaker set. 2 speakers and a sub. Worked pretty good. The speakers in most RV's are******anyway as far as speakers go in the speaker world.
Our new 5'er actually has a nice sound system. Although it's all Jensen it came with a subwoofer and 8 speakers. Two in the bedroom, two outside and four in the living area. It's fairly well balanced and while watching movies it sounds pretty decent.
When I does******out on me I will go the home theater route and just run everything thru an inverter. A small amp and a nice bluray player would be all that's needed. Only issue is I would need a speaker splitter to run all the speakers. Most amps don't have provisions for 3 sets of speakers. We generally just listen to our XM Roady radio that's moved around from the house to the 5'er.
