If my pea brain recalls right, my old '03 F250 cc, sb, 4x4, 6.0, w/50 gal Transfer flow tank and Reese 15 k slider hitch weighed in at 8500. Toss in it's GVW was only 8800! What good is a "beefy" truck when it's maxed out w/o anything attached? Anyways, you are correct on trailer weight capability. Think max combo was 20,000. Now we had a '06 Cedar Creek Silverback BH that weighed 10,800 empty,13,800 max with a 1800 pin. Totally loaded for a weeks vaykay, 2 adults, 2 kids, truck weighed like 10800 and combo of 21,000. Truck towed and handled 5er w/ no probs. Really liked the truck probly cuz I ordered it and 1st new truck in some time.
The way you can tell if it has the RV/Camper pkg.....look for aux springs. If not, just a reg SD truck.
