I just did a trip w/o mine- same problem- pain while they're in the hallway. Going to get some nicer folding camp chairs to replace them.
I haul a quad so there's no room left. Just now I tried to set a heavy duty plastic folding table over the front of the car hood and it almost clears the wheels. About 3" too short. I have enough width for a table but it's too short. If that table was tall enough I think I could strap them down to the table and figure out a way to secure the table legs to the car?
