Front - Electric Captains Chairs

We have a 2011 tiffin allegro open road 32 ca , the front (electric) captain chairs are cracked and pretty much look very worn; My question; should I look for someone to re-upholster the original seats or check options for replacement?

I would go with re-upholster.> Way cheaper
or custom set covers (or both)

    I would go with re-upholster
Or even seat covers (Short term)
NO need to replace a frame that is sound.
  • The problem is the bonded leather. The material in all manuf of coaches around that time had issues. But the problem is still persistent even today. Best thing to do is reupholster with better grade material either a quality leather or a good vinyl. If the seats are comfortable I would just reupholster them.
  • Thank you all for the great information, as far as Tiffin goes, I called left a message, 3 days later had no return call so I call and the great customer service person , said they can’t help so I should purchase new ones. I had them re-upholstered!
  • ^^^ Is the new material holding up any better than the old?

In other words, was it just a bad batch or is this an on-going problem?
  • It is ALWAYS cheaper to re-upholster Motorhome cockpit chairs. Our uphosterer charges about $100 to redo Tiffin chairs. Tiffin has supplied the material either free or charged the customer. Depends on how old the RV is and the problem with the original material. There is a TAG (identifier)underneath your chair. Get that tag and call Tiffin and ask for free replacement material. Doug
  • Do both and see which fits your budget better. The manufacturer of those chairs had issues with the material around that year and were redoing them for free at the time.
