I own a Solitude, my cousin a Cedar Creek. Recently he and his wife accompanied us on a short trip in the Solitude, I can not list all the things he said he liked in my Solitude better than his Cedar Creek! Add to that GD service and for my money I would pick the Solitude!
Now, you have to look at the floor plan of each, and pick the floor plan that suites your needs! Yes quality construction, and after sale service are important, but how the floor plan fits YOUR needs is the most important thing! Every time you use your rig the floor plan is there, if it works for you great, if there is some problem, even a little inconviniance you see it and it will get worst not better over time! Good luck in your search!
I'm curious to know what your cousin liked better.
Would you please share:) - Me_AgainExplorer IIII would never buy a new 5th wheel without a rear cap. It is to hard to always walk around the front of the trailer because you can not stand the unfinished look of the rear. Chris

Closest reply to someone actually having had both!..:W
I've never had GD service, but have read many posters coming close to referring to their 'service' as such..:R

Cedar Creek no longer includes the Goodyear GS614 tires on at least their 36CKTS trailer. Their rep I was able to order this tire on the Solitude 369RL. Open Range has no tire options.
Thanks I did not know that. - campinghutExplorermistake

An update:
CC Pros:
-Build Quality, Rear Cap, Full Body Paint, Quieter AC, Full Electric Fridge/Inverter
CC Neg:
-Taller Height, More Dated Interior vs the Solitude, Chinese Tires Only Option
Realy I thought the Goodyear g-614 were a good tire but I am known to be wrong on occasions - scotjimaExplorerAn update:
We placed an order for the Grand Design Solitude 369RL. We looked at lots of different trailers, but focused on Cedar Creek, Grand Design Solitude and the Open Range Roamer & 3X series.
I feel the Cedar Creek is/was probably the best built of the three with the Solitude coming in a close second.
CC Pros:
-Build Quality, Rear Cap, Full Body Paint, Quieter AC, Full Electric Fridge/Inverter
CC Neg:
-Taller Height, More Dated Interior vs the Solitude, Chinese Tires Only Option
Solitude Pros:
-Overall Interior Design/Materials, Customer Service, 101" vs 96" width, Lower Height (should be under 13'), Closer Dealer
Solitude Neg:
-No rear cap, No full body paint, No residential (all electric) fridge, smaller fresh tank.
OR Pros:
-Lighter Weight, More Standard Features, Exterior Design
OR Neg:
-Cable Slides, Frame Issues (even lots of 2014 models reporting frame issues)
In the end, the biggest factor in our decision was that my wife really liked the Solitude the best. I felt it was a good quality rig as well, so that's what we went with. If I was deciding, I probably would have gone with the OR Roamer 347RES and saved some money... - Coach-manExplorerSolitude is what we purchased after many months of research. Fit and finish was excelant, had all the features we were looking for. Customer Service is what GD is built on, check out Grand Design owners group. Last and most important, the floor plan fit our needs! IMHO, the last is most important to a buyer, if you find a floor plan that fits YOUR needs, then that is the RV to purchase. Yes quality, fit finish, customer service, etc are important, but your needs should be at the top of the list. Hopefully, which ever model/make you buy will be with you for many years! That one thing that you had to deal with will also be with you. So make sure the floor plan will not have too many things that you had to compromise on and you will have the unit for you!
