- dtappy3353ExplorerI run my 13,500 btu unit on the same Champion inverter/generator. Runs ac and ref but not micro or elect. water heater.
Never have problems with it. - JiminDenverExplorer II

It easily gets into the 80's and 90's up there. There is little shade most of the time so the trailer turns into a oven. This year I am hoping to run a small window shaker off of the solar instead of listening to the generator. - KountryguyExplorerGood news. Thanks
- e-lightExplorerI have that generator and it runs my 15K AC. Its a great deal and works like a champ(ion)!
- KountryguyExplorerThanks, that is what I was hoping to hear. My ac is 15 years old. I installed an easy start capacitor. I don't know if the older units start harder than the new ones or not.
- Hunter11Explorer IIWe have a Champion 75537i 3100 and it runs one of our 15k AC units and our residential fridge. We bought it in case of power outages and it has worked great during the two we have had. Ours is not the electric start.

- JiminDenverExplorer IIThere are several here with the 3100i and say it will run their 15K air, in fact they say they have better surge ability than the Honda EU3000.
There is more to running the air than just the basic numbers. Altitude and heat play a major roll too. I camp at 10,000 ft where a generator can lose up to 40% on a hot day. I so wanted a inverter generator last year when I replaced our old 3500/4000 but after researching, calling the companies and even rental shop the conclusion was that I would have to go up to a Yamaha 4500 inverter generator to have the power to run my air up there. So I bought another 3500/4000 and turn off the converter. - KountryguyExplorerI am not to sure where to accomplish this test. I do not know anyone who has one.
- RustyJCExplorerIf I were you, I'd try it for myself before I bought it. I'm running 2 each Yamaha EF2000is generators in parallel for a theoretical 4000 watt peak output, and everything has to be set just right for them to start one 15K BTU A/C in our Mobile Suites. Of course, our generators are also powering the converter and residential fridge (normally powered by an inverter when off-grid) in addition to the A/C, but a 3.1KW generator might be marginal at best - I believe the Camping World catalog rates a 3KW generator as being good for a 13.5K BTU A/C.
Better to know for sure than to spend the bucks and be disappointed....
