Changing kitchen and hallway lighting

I have a 2009 40ft Cardinal by Forest River and I'd like to get the lighting in the kitchen and hallway changed from 12 volt to regular 110 volt .
Mainly because my trailer is parked and skirted and I never intend to take it boon docking .
Can a qualified rv person do the job ? I find the little 12 volt bulbs just aren't bright enough .
A couple nice bright fluorescent lamps or LED!'s would do the job .
Thanks to all who reply .

  • Look in the Boondocking section for info on low cost led bulbs. Very bright. Much easier than conversion to 120v
  • Please just add the 110 fixture or change to LED bulbs. :B

YOU may plan to never boondock, but if for some reason you decide to sell, the next owner may want to boondock.

Believe me, it could easily be a deal killer if there were no 12v lights in the kitchen area.

Been there and done that! :R
  • I too would look into stay with 12 volt and switching to LED. Three times the light at a fraction of the power.
  • If you don't want 12 volt fluorescents, I would agree with just adding the 120 volt fixture additionally, do not replace 12 volters.

  • I would first look at some 12 volt LED light options. Converting to 110 volts is possible, but it might be easier to simply add more 110 volt light fixtures.
