changing light fixtures

Has anyone changed the fixtures in the 5th wheel? I am thinking of it. I found some cool cabin style fixture I would like to get. But if there is something I don't know about as far as changing them. Please let me know.

I does seem pretty straight forward.

  • I replaced the cheap original dc 12v heat emitng 2 bulb fixture over our kitchen sink with a nice flush mount 18 inch twin bulb flourescent fixture I bought from a marine supply store.Extremely easy upgrade and nice soft light projection.

Last year I replaced the original extra cheap brown 60 cycle humming 115v ac ceiling fan and 4 bulb light fixture with a really nice super quiet Hunter ceiling hugger fan (5 blade) and dome light in antique burnished bronze that matches our other fixtures perfectly. I also installed a 2 bulb light fixture in the 5ver front compartment.

These upgrades were easy to do and really gives the (Hotel) trailer class.

  • Just make sure the power matches ie 12V to 12V and 120 to 120V. Mine has both 12 and 120V lights.
  • Shouldn't be a problem. Turn off the wall switch or pull the fuse or disconnect the battery.
