changing light fixture

I want to change the light in the kitchen area. * flush mount* to a semi mount.

can I buy any light at home depot, or does it have to be a 12 volt fixture?.

I have a 2015 KEYSTONE RETREAT 39FDEN, if that helps.

  • First you need to understand what kind of light you are wanting to replace. Is it a 12v or 120 volt light fixture/bulb?

My trailer has both and they are definitely NOT interchangeable.

Once you determine that you can get the right fixture/bulb.
  • Not sure what style light you are after, I suggest looking on Ebay or Amazon. I bought the common double 12v overhead lights on ebay for $10 or $12 each.
  • My DIY LED light fixtures were $3, complete. All are still functioning perfectly.
  • I would look on line for RV fixtures. several companies make them and can purchased on line. ITC, Gustafson, LaSalle Bristol
  • thank you. My dealer wants to charge me 100$ + for the whole light.

i think i found what you are talking about.

  • You have to use 12V bulbs, so as long as the light fixture can accommodate them, you'll be okay. You can purchase 12V screw in bulbs to fit. As long as you do this, you'll be fine.
