As we prepare to hit the road full time with our 2014 Winnebago Lite Five, my gut feeling tells me to remove the stock tires (yes the are made in China) and go with a more reliable American made product. Although I have a TPMS, I still don't have the confidence in the current tires for extended trips in the south. My dealer has quoted me a price of $984 out the door for 4 Michelin LTX/MS2 70K tires, which in checking is an outstanding price once you consider mounting and such.Who may have any experience with this tires on their rig to provide feedback on how they perform on the road?

I don't know what size tires you require, but if they make a Michelin XPS Rib to fit your trailer I would go for that. With the Rib's you will have complete peace of mind. To use the old Timex jingle, they will take beating and keep on ticking.

I just put these on my LTV .about 5k ago motor home ,the michilins I took off had 8yrs of use. the new MS2 ride better and are quiter. your price is $300. less than I paid. I like them. your making a wise move in my opinion. sell your old one,s on craigs list.

X2 on the Michelin XPS Ribs. I can't lift one but I have had zero problems since I put them on several years ago.

When there was a recall on the BFG Commercial TA that is what my dealer replaced them with. Been good so far.

Yes I am running 16" 5200# axles from the factory.

At that weight any of the name brand LT tires should give you 5 years of trouble service. You don't need the all steel tires like the Michlein XPS Rib or the Bridgestone Duravis R250.

The Michelins suggested are LT truck tires, and they're just not the kind'a tire needed on a fifth wheel trailer. You have specialized needs.

If the OP has #5200 axles, 6 lug 16" rims are available. LT tires are what is needed, if you want years of trouble free service. "ST" tires are cheaply made tires that are not fit for service.

Could you explain the special needs you are referring to without quoting the bogus marketing from those that push cheap short life trailer tires?

I see your fiver is a 8000-9000 lb. unit dry weight. Are you running 15" tires?

If so, the Michelin rib tires and the Bridgestone R250's are out--16" only.

In the 15 inch size, I suggest the Maxxis M8008's--the best of the ST tires. It also comes in most popular diameters.

Michelin does not own Bridgestone. BS bought Firestone.

Michelin does own Uniroyal, and the TA has a twin in the Laredo HD/H.

Really?! I put them on my PU just a year ago. Prior to that I was having flats from sharp rocks pretty regularly (worn Firestones), but haven't had a single problem with the MS/2 Michelins. I do a lot of driving on that crappy red shale we have in NE WYO (but mostly highway) and have driven 30-35K miles since installation. I really like them... so far.
