I bought the same M/S2 Michelins for my fiver last year and it rides very nice and I have not had a problem with siping on these tires. I have a 14000 gvw fiver and they don't show any sign of wear yet. I got them at Americas tire for 199.00 each , and pretty close to the out the door price you were quoted. I love my M/S2 Michelins.
