Yes keep roof clean and keep black streaks of side of rv. Plus you can check roof for cuts and cracks while you are up there

Is there a reason to wash the roof?

X2 on the Murphy's Oil Soap. Been using it for 14 years, roof looks like new.

I've used "Murphy's" and have also used "Spic-N-Span" with equally good results on my current and last two rigs.

So far no problems using Mequires boat soap or car wash a couple times a year. Also give the roof a once a year roof treatment product right after one of the washings.

I would think any soap is safe as long as it does not have petroleum distillates or petroleum in any way shape or form.
